Litigation Attorney (Of Counsel)

Hew & Bordenave has immediate opening for an Of Counsel Litigation Attorney. We are seeking someone who has 5-7 years experience of handling their own cases, but working in a team-environment. We will support you and provide work space and collaborate with you on our shared cases, but you are free to grow your practice. 

Perfect position for someone who wants to go independent, but not completely solo.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Win your cases and have a winning mentality.
  • Be team-oriented, collaborate, and do not be difficult to work with or for.
  • Manage multiple functions simultaneously.
  • Work with firm attorneys to handle case matters.
  • Assess and prioritize tasks in order to forecast and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Financial hygiene, including accurately tracking time and expenses and assigning such to the proper client.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently.

Litigation

  • An aggressive, but not difficult and impractical approach to case development.
  • Discovery / pleading / motion drafting and review.
  • Legal research, including case law research and government agency policies and procedures.
  • Experience with Plaintiff’s side litigation a plus.
 
 

Compensation & Value Add-Ons:

Case Administrator (Part-Time)

Hew & Bordenave has immediate opening for our Case Administrator position. We are seeking someone who has critical thinking and a high level of attention to detail are also required. This is a part-time position and NOT remote.

Overview

As Case Administrator, you play a critical role in providing support to the Firm’s team for day-to-day administrative and operational tasks in the office. This position corresponds heavily with potential and current clients, medical offices, insurance carriers, government agencies, and other outside entities, and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. 

Critical thinking and a high level of attention to detail are paramount.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering and routing phone calls, scheduling further follow-up
  • Managing Attorney and office resource calendars
  • Data entry and processing
  • Document Management (drafting, scanning, filing (physical and electronic), copying, transmitting)
  • Navigating complex technology platforms efficiently
  • Performing other administrative duties, as assigned

You must be able to:

  • Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Assess and prioritize tasks in order to forecast and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients and other contacts.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Windows and Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, SharePoint)
  • Typing, 60 WPM
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a law or medical office preferred
 
Job Type: Part-Time
 
Schedule: Firm is open M-F, 9 am – 5pm, therefore this position must be able to work part-time during this timeframe.
